Private Walking Tour of Havre de Grace (Guided Tour)

Private historic walking tours can be scheduled for individuals or groups by calling the Visitors Center.  Tours are led by volunteer members of the Havre de Grace Historic Preservation Commission.  

The fee for tours is $10 for adults, children under 18 are free (fee is a donation to the Havre de Grace Historic Preservation Commission, tips are appreciated but not required.)

Joe K Trail Walking Tour/North Park Trail Walk (Guided Tour)

Join the Susquehanna Museum at the Lock House for their bi-monthly walking tour of the Joe K Trail (North Park Trail/Loop). An easy 1.5 mile trail walk where history meets ecology.  This tour is free and no reservation is required.

Concord Point Lighthouse Tours (Guided Tour)

Tours are available for the iconic Concord Point Lighthouse from April through October through the Keeper’s House Museum. Admission to both the Lighthouse and the Keeper’s House is free, but donations are appreciated. 

Tours are available daily during the operating season (visit the Concord Point Lighthouse website for the current hours). You must be 42 inches tall to climb to the top of the Lighthouse. The lighthouse has both steps and a ladder to get to the top. Inclement weather may result in unsafe conditions for Lighthouse Tours.

City “Tree Walk” Tour (Self-Guided Tour)

Nature lovers can take a self-guided “Tree Walk” tour to view a variety of local trees growing in Havre de Grace. Each tree has a plaque with information on its species.

Lafayette Trail App (Self-Guided Tour)

The Lafayette Trail, a self-guided tour of historic Havre de Grace. The trail is a continuous 3-mile loop through the City indicated by sidewalk markings and “Walk the Lafayette Trail” signs posted along the way. You will see blue numbered medallions embedded in the sidewalk.

Havre de Haunts Tours (Guided Tour)

Home of the Original Ghost Tours of Havre de Grace, “Havre de Haunts” offers private group tours throughout the year, through the main parts of historic downtown Havre de Grace, visiting outside locations that include Lafayette Square, La Cle D’or B&B, Rodger’s House (Abbey Burger), The State Theatre and the American Legion.

Kayak Tours (Guided Tour, Seasonal)

Enjoy a history tour from your kayak! Paddle past the Promenade, the town’s boardwalk, and learn about the city’s origin, and history!

Havre de Grace Candlelight Tour (Self-Guided Tour, Seasonal)

The Candlelight Tour is an annual holiday tour hosted every December by the Susquehanna Museum at the Lock House. This self-paced tour includes over a dozen local historic homes, museums, and churches located across the City of Havre de Grace. Tour-goers will receive a map and a brochure of the stops along with a collectible button for entry.

Havre de Grace Church Tour (Self-Guided, Seasonal)

A one day scheduled Christmas tour of historic 19th and 20th Century Havre de Grace Churches, typically held at the end of December. This free self-guided tour is sponsored by the Susquehanna Ministerium of Greater Havre de Grace. 

Brochures may be obtained at the Havre de Grace Tourism and Visitors Center, 450 Pennington Ave.
