A Passion for Oysters (2023), Free Documentary from the Bay Journal
November 21 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
A Passion for Oysters (2023) is another wonderful film about the Chesapeake from the amazing team of Dave Harp, Tom Horton & Sandy Cannon-Brown. A Passion for Oysters explores the “other” iconic Bay treat: oysters!! “Oysters once populated the Chesapeake Bay’s bottoms in massive numbers, inspiring shooting wars, piracy, social and environmental conflict, and libraries of legislation.” A great companion “watch” with William Warner’s Beautiful Swimmers we read recently as part of the Green Team “Bites and Books.” Come to the film and learn about oysters in our beautiful Bay. Stay for a lively and informative post film discussion. We are delighted that Tim Wheeler, a journalist at the Bay Journal, will join us for the discussion. Also please support the City of Havre de Grace Oyster Feast on November 23, 2024. We are grateful to the Bay Journal for allowing the Green Team to screen this film at a public venue. The Bay Journal is an unparalleled source for news and commentary about the Bay, its health and the people who live in its vast watershed in six states, Delaware, Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia as well as the District of Columbia.
