Your Guide to Shopping in Havre de Grace, Maryland

Shopping in Havre de Grace is always a fun time! With a variety of retail stores, this little city is a great place to grab a gift for a friend or enjoy some retail therapy.

Antiques & Collectibles

As a city rich in history and culture, it’s no surprise that Havre de Grace is home to a wide variety of antiques and collectibles. If you enjoy searching for unique finds in a city full of historic places, then Havre de Grace is sure to please!

In the downtown area, Havre de Grace is home to over 50 individual antiques dealers inside Seneca Cannery Antique Mall alone. This large, brick building right next to the waterfront on St. John Street has something for everyone. Plus, there’s a small parking lot right next to the building, providing a shorter walk from doorfront to your car. (We know antiques can be heavy. They’re made of quality solid materials!)

Farmers Markets

Nestled in the heart of downtown Havre de Grace, the Havre de Grace Farmers Market is a bustling hub of activity every Saturday morning from 8:30 am to noon. Located on the 100 block of St John Street near Hutchins Park, this market boasts a wide variety of produce, prepared foods, breads and dairy products from nearby farmers, as well as locally created and handmade artisan items.

As part of the Community Projects of Havre de Grace, Inc., the Farmers Market runs every Saturday from May 6 until December 23. If you’re planning a visit, remember to bring your own bags and cash, as not all vendors accept credit cards. Consider arriving early for the best selection–the early bird gets the worm (although hopefully not in your fresh apples).

Cafes & Bakeries

After walking around from store to store, trying on a new outfit and imagining the perfect place for your new items in your home, chances are you might want to grab a snack or a drink to refuel and refresh.

Grab a cup of coffee–either iced or hot depending on the season–and a baked good at one of the coffee shops downtown. If it’s a nice day, sit outside at one of the outdoor tables or benches and watch the world go by. If it’s rainy or cooler, stay inside and warm up before venturing out again.

Hours may vary during the week, but almost all downtown locations are open weekends. The exception is the Promenade Grill, which is outdoors and open seasonally.
