Mardi Gras is about music, parades, beads, floats, and excitement. It’s one big holiday….. and not just in New Orleans anymore! Havre de Grace’s very own Bourbon Street will come alive on February 13th with the annual Mardi Gras Parade!
Join us along the parade route and be sure to wear your best Mardi Gras costume, or at least dress in purple, green, and gold. Adorn yourselves with long beads caught from the floats as the parade passes by. This is a family friendly event! Sure to delight the kids, Princess Tiana will join the Mayor on the City of Havre de Grace float. Both locals and visitors are guaranteed a great time!
(Helpful tip: Experienced revelers know to bring a large bag with them so they can haul away all the beads, trinkets, and prizes they will catch from the parade!)
Cash prizes and trophies will be awarded to the best of the parade participants in several categories, including “Best Float,” “Best Costumes,” “Best Music,” “Best Walking Group,” and “Most Entertaining!”
