Watch the Independence Day Parade
Take part in one of Maryland’s most joyful Independence Day traditions by attending the Independence Day Parade in Havre de Grace on Sunday, July 2. This exciting display of American pride features marching bands, floats, horses, and antique vehicles as they make their way through the streets of the city. Participants wear patriotic outfits and wave national flags, spreading joy and cheer throughout the community. The parade is sure to be one of the most exciting things to do in Havre de Grace to celebrate Independence Day.
Enjoy a Concert
After enjoying the parade, what could be better than listening to some live music? Havre de Grace has two amazing concerts to offer this year.
Independence Day Concert in Hutchins Park
In Hutchins Park, bands Under the Covers and Doc Marten and the Flannels will be taking the stage. Tickets are available for purchase beginning May 1 for just $10 ($15 from June 1-30 and $20 at the gate). Doors open at 5pm, with Under the Covers performing at 5:30pm followed by Doc Marten and the Flannels at 7:15pm. Food, wine/beer and other non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase!
Independence Day Concert at Concord Point Park
For anyone interested in a more patriotic performance, the Maryland Military Band will be performing a free concert in Concord Point Park. Enjoy the waterfront view and close up fireworks with lots of options for food & drink available for purchase. Be sure to bring a lawn chair and check the weather beforehand.
Although deciding which festivities to partake in may be hard, both parks offer an excellent view of the evening’s fireworks – which is a perfect segway to the grand event…..

If you’re looking for an amazing fireworks show, Havre de Grace has got you covered. The fireworks start at approximately 9:15 pm, and are launched from a barge on the Susquehanna River. Both Hutchins Park and Concord Point offer excellent views, but the fireworks can be seen all along the shoreline and throughout the city. With stunning views of the Chesapeake Bay, this show is not something you want to miss!
