Join Gyleen Fitzgerald, internationally known author and quilt maker, as she performs a traditional bed turning.
Bed Turning is a way to display quilts while telling their story. Bed turnings originated long ago as a social event. A married woman might hold a bed turning. Her heritage quilts would be piled on top of each other in the bed. The hostess would then turn them back one by one as she explained each pattern.
Afterwards, please enjoy Gallery 220’s current exhibition “Threaded” curated by Gay Lynn Price and Gyleen Fitzgerald.
This event is FREE, but please register on Eventbrite.
