The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development officially approved the expansion of the Havre de Grace Main Street District.  The City of Havre de Grace Downtown Business District was designated as a Maryland Main Street in 2005.

New developments and opportunities on Market Street from Congress Avenue to Girard Street prompted the city to request a boundary extension to include an upcoming and thriving area adjacent to the Main Street District.
