Learn to Belly Dance (Grades 6-12)

As one of the oldest forms of dance, the benefits of belly dance are undeniable. Belly dancing promotes balance, strength, digestion, coordination and confidence as well as being a highly expressive dance form. Belly dancing is empowering and fun, but its health benefits and rewards are highly underestimated. Suitable for all ages, belly dance improves posture, tones muscles, and helps to reduce stress. Teens enrolled in this camp not only learn a new dance style, but will learn discipline, teamwork, focus, and most importantly how to live their lives in a healthy manner. This beautiful dance style is a fun and fabulous way to get fit!
The class will begin with easy beginner moves and within one hour, campers will be belly dancing. Throughout the week a variety of choreography will be taught, including the use of props such as fans, scarves, and fabric. All shapes, sizes, and ability levels are welcome and encouraged. 6th Grade and up. No previous dance experience is required. Each camper will receive a jingly coin hip scarf to keep. This week-long camp will conclude with a performance on the last day of camp!
