Learn about the coastal sedimentation along the Chesapeake Bay as well as the geological processes that shape our landscape. Learn how geology impacts the region’s diversity of plants, wildlife, and urban development. We’ll discuss fossils, take sediment core samples, and learn the geologic periods that the Bay covers while enjoying the sights from the water. Preferred intermediate experience as the trip is longer in duration, covering a large strip of the Bay. NOTE: All gear and basic paddle and safety instruction will be provided before launch. Class is weather permitting.
