Journey through a quarter-millennium of history with the Havre de Grace Mosaic Project 250!
The sequel to the beloved Mosaic Project of 2022, Mosaic Project 250 expands the scope of incredible storytelling in the Upper Bay area from John Smith’s first encounter with the Susquehannock tribe in 1608 to Hurricane Isabel and its impact to Havre de Grace landmarks in 2003. Did you know that Havre de Grace lost its chance of becoming our nation’s capital by just one vote? Or the importance of the Susquehanna Canal, built just a few short years before the explosion of the American Civil War? What do Frederick Douglass, Al Capone, and President John F. Kennedy all have in common? They all have ties to Havre de Grace!
Join us at the Cultural Center at the Opera House Friday, August 25th – Sunday, August 27th to view the pictorial essay that captures it all. And – new to Mosaic 250 this year! – visit Steppingstone Farm Museum before or after select screenings to continue your adventure!
As supporting partners of the Havre de Grace Arts Collective and Mosaic Project 250, Steppingstone Farm Museum will be hosting a complimentary lecture series the weekend of August 25th – August 27th with topics that dive even deeper into the stories and historic milestones celebrated by the film. All lectures will be given on-site at Steppingstone (address below) and are included in the price of your Mosaic Project 250 ticket. Specific times and topics will be announced by August 19th.
