Face to Face – Free opening reception

Join us for the opening of Face to Face – an exhibition at Gallery 220!
Gallery 220 is pleased to present “Face to Face” a group exhibition curated by Marisa Canino, Paulette Smyth, & Alana Beall. The full exhibition will be on view from Friday, Jan 17th through Sunday, March 16th with receptions scheduled for Friday, January 25th from 6pm – 9pm (show opening) and Sunday, March 16th from 12pm – 2pm (show closing).

Both the opening and closing receptions are open to the public and will include a cash bar and hors d’oeuvres. We kindly ask that you register in advance (though not required) for headcount purposes, and we look forward to to seeing you there!
ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
Portraits tell the story of a subject, but can also help us understand our own stories. More than a depiction of someone – real or imagined, known to us or unknown – a portrait reflects the artist, the viewer, and the world surrounding both. The “Face to Face” exhibit challenges traditional assumptions about portraiture by continuously shifting the lens of what a portrait can look like. In doing so, we in turn challenge viewers to interact with this type of art in a fresh, meaningful, and personal way. Featuring several styles of portraiture and a variety of media, this exhibit examines the stories that portraits tell and invites viewers to find the common thread that uniquely resonates with them.
ABOUT GALLERY 220
Gallery 220 is presented by the Havre de Grace Arts Collective, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, and serves as a fine art gallery and true destination experience for all art lovers and patrons.
Gallery 220 not only serves as the new headquarters for the Arts Collective. Through a combination of curated art exhibitions and arts programming that educates, empowers, and entertains our community, Gallery 220 aims to become the creative hub within Havre de Grace’s entire Arts & Entertainment District.
