A celebration of Robert Burns and all things Scottish!
Wear your tartan plaid – clan kilts all weekend
Thursday, January 23rd
An informative Whiskey Tasting at 7:30 pm hosted by the “Cask Chasers” group. Followed by a brief talk linking Havre de Grace to Scotland by local author Robert F. Lackey and a short documentary film on the Scottish Poet Robert Burns. Laurrapin Catering will have light fare & cash bar on-site (State Theater)
Friday, January 24th
Scottish Pub Crawl at all downtown establishments with signature drinks discounted prices on drinks and meals, and mock highland games starting at 5:00 pm. All attendees should check-in at the State Theater lobby for required participation lanyards. Celtic Concert performance at 8:30 pm by local theater group Rogue Swan at the State Theater is included in the ticket price.
Saturday, January 25th
From 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm, The Havre de Grace Arts Collective brings you a free program hosted by local author Robert F. Lackey dedicated to the life & works of Robert Burns followed by a Scottish film highlighting the poem ‘To the Haggis’ (Cultural Center at the Opera House) 121 N Union Ave hdgoperahouse.org
The State Theater will be hosting live entertainment with food/bar service – Celtic Rock Band, New Brigade – www.thestatehdg.com
Our downtown restaurants will be offering Scottish food & drink specials all weekend with discounts for kilt wearing patrons. Also, pop up shops carrying Scottish clothing and gifts will be located at various locations.
